To mark the event, at 6pm on Friday, all pagodas, temples and churches in Cambodia, regardless of their religion, are being asked to ring their bells or beat their drums and offer prayers that the world will succeed in combatting human trafficking.

Minister of Cults and Religions, Chhit Sokhon, says the event has been held every year since 2017. He says at Friday’s event, the Prime Minister will give a speech themed on bringing about a world free from human trafficking, as well as Covid-19. With preventative measures in place, the Ministry says any gatherings on Friday at 6pm must be socially-distanced and held outdoors.
